Over 30 years ago, AIAG collaborated with the domestic automotive manufacturers to develop common quality methods and tools, which became known as the Quality Core Tools. The tools proved so useful that they were adopted by other manufacturing sectors, including aerospace, defense, medical, and pharmaceutical and have recently been aligned into the VDA6 part 3 German automotive Verband der Automobilindustrie
We have years of experience implementing training & auditing these, The FMEA is known as the subpoenable document and MUST be kept live and relevant as if anything goes wrong this can destroy a company's reputation.
APQP
Advanced Product Quality Planning and Control Plans we can take you through this whole process as we have used it many times for a whole host of products and clients it is used to reduce the complexity of product quality planning for customers and suppliers by allowing customers to easily communicate their product quality planning requirements to their suppliers. Suppliers gain an understanding of basic industry requirements for achieving part approval from their customer.
PPAP
The Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) handbook is an industry standard that outlines the process to demonstrate engineering design and product specifications are met by the supplier’s manufacturing process. Through PPAP, suppliers and customers agree upon the requirements needed to obtain approval of supplier manufactured parts. Applicable to all parts and commodities, PPAP principles help reduce delays and non-conformances during part approval by providing a consistent approval process
FMEA - 7 Types
Failure Mode and Effects Analysis is a tool used to identify and address failure modes in products and processes. There a many applications - Concept - Design - Process - System - Subsystem - Component - Machine
Standard best practice is to create the PFMEA from the DFMEA and use this living document to drive quality and reduce risks with linkage to the Control plan and work instructions,
We work to the SAE J1739 standard to include the Function Model,Boundary Diagrams,Parameter P diagram, interface matrices, process flow etc..
SPC
Statistical Process Control (SPC) describes several basic and advanced statistical methods to ensure your process improvements are more effective.
We have years of in depth knowledge gain supporting companies with the implementation, we can guide you in were and what to use train your people using manual charts & how to interpret data and calculate control limits , we can also work to implement a semi automated syatem if thats whats needed
MSA
Measurement System Analysis (MSA) measurement data monitors nearly every process. As data quality improves, decision quality improves
We can guide you through and train you on the tools and techniques such as Gauge R&R's type 1 & 2 calibration and how to make it work for you, some companies still use a std time based approach - this is not the way we look at usage drift and results aligned to risk to set you up for success.
8D - Problem Solving tool
I've kept this in even though the AIAG have removed it as its covered elsewhere,
8D stands for the eight disciplines of problem solving we use a lot of lean tools similar to A3 during the stages, D1 establish team with roles & rules,D2 Define the problem,D3 Containment (Protect the customer) D4 Root cause Identify & verify (how made / shipped) D5 Identify Corrective action,D6 Implement corrective action D7 Preventative actions,D8 Congratulated the Team - usually overlooked but a very important step, Key point the Team needs to be more than One QA engineer
